Manage a season: dates, status and deleting

Rename a season, change its dates and status, remove teams, finish it, or delete it.

Seasons change: dates move, a team drops out, the season ends. Everything about a season is managed on the League page, which opens as Manage season. This guide covers each change and what it does to standings and games.

Short version

On League, pick the season, edit Name, Status, Start date or End date in the Season card and tap Save changes. Remove takes a team out. Delete season deletes it, and its games become scrimmages.

Pick the season to manage

The League page opens on your first Active season, or your newest season if none is active. The season's name shows at the top, after the league name (for example "Metro League › Fall 2026").

To manage a different one:

  • With two or more seasons, use the season list at the top right of the Season card.
  • Or, in the All seasons card, tap Manage on its row. The season you're managing shows Managing instead.
  • From a season's standings page, tap Manage season.

View standings at the top of the page opens the season page. See How standings work.

Change the name, status or dates

  1. In the Season card, edit the Name, Status, Start date or End date.
  2. Tap Save changes. It's greyed out until you change something.
  3. Saved appears next to the button when it's done.

What the status does:

StatusWhat it means in StatsCastr
UpcomingOffered under Counts toward when you schedule a game
ActiveOffered under Counts toward, and the season the dashboard, League page and team pages open on
CompletedNot offered for new games. Standings, leaders and existing games stay

The dates are for reference. They show on the season page and in the All seasons list, but they don't stop games outside them from counting.

Finish a season

When the last game is final, set the Status to Completed and tap Save changes. Games already in the season keep counting. If you have another season, set the next one to Active so the dashboard shows its standings.

Remove a team

  1. In the Teams in season card, find the team.
  2. Tap Remove. There's no confirmation.

The team leaves the standings, and its games stop counting for its opponents too, since standings only count games between two teams in the season. The games themselves aren't deleted. To put it back, tap + Add team and tap the team; its games count again.

Delete a season

  1. Pick the season to delete (see above).
  2. In the Season card, tap Delete season.
  3. Confirm Delete season "Fall 2026"? (with your season's name).

What happens:

  • The season, its standings and its stat leaders are gone.
  • Its games are kept, with all their stats, but they become scrimmages. They show the Scrimmage tag and no longer count anywhere.
  • It can't be undone. Creating a new season with the same name doesn't bring the games back into it.

If you only want to stop using a season, set it to Completed instead.

If something goes wrong

Changes to seasons don't show an error if they fail to save. If a change doesn't appear:

  • Saved didn't show after Save changes: check your connection and try again.
  • A team you removed or added didn't move: reload the page and check the Teams in season list.
  • A deleted season is still listed: reload the page. If it's still there, try again.

Still stuck? Email info@eightyfivecreative.com with the league and season name.

Checklist

  • Right season picked before making changes
  • Saved shown after Save changes
  • Removed teams checked: their opponents' records change too
  • Finished seasons set to Completed, and the next one to Active
  • Completed used instead of Delete season when you want to keep the standings
