A season is where games count. Standings and stat leaders are worked out per season, from the season's teams and its finished games. Create one for each stretch of play, such as "Fall 2026" or "Spring 2027".
Short version
On League, tap + New season under All seasons. Enter a Name, set the Status to Upcoming or Active, add dates and tap Create season. Then, under Teams in season, tap + Add team and tap each team.
Before you start
You need a league first. See Create a league. To add teams to the season, they must already exist and be the league's sport. See Add a team.
Create the season
- Tap League in the header.
- Go to the All seasons card (on a computer, use the section links on the left; on a phone, scroll down).
- Tap + New season.
- Fill in the form:
- Name: for example "Fall 2026".
- Status: Upcoming, Active or Completed. Use Upcoming or Active for a season you're about to play.
- Start date and End date: optional. They show on the season page for reference and don't limit which games can be in the season.
- Tap Create season. It reads Creating... while it saves.
The new season becomes the one you're managing: its name appears at the top, next to the league name.
Which status to pick
- Upcoming or Active: the season shows under Counts toward when you schedule a game.
- Active: the dashboard's standings card, the League page and the team pages open on the first active season they find.
- Completed: no new games can be scheduled into it. Its standings and leaders stay.
You can change the status any time. See Manage a season.
Add teams to the season
- On League, go to the Teams in season card. Check the season name at the top of the page is the one you want.
- Tap + Add team. A row headed Add a followed by the sport, for example Add a basketball team, lists your teams that aren't in the season yet.
- Tap each team to add it. It moves into the list below.
- Tap Done when you've added them all.
Add every team that plays in the season, including opponents. Only teams in the season appear in its standings, and a season game needs both teams in the season.
If the team you want isn't there
- Only teams of the league's sport are listed. A soccer team won't show in a basketball league.
- The + Add team button is missing: every team of that sport is already in the season, or you have none. With no teams at all, the card says No teams in this season yet. with a link to Add a team for this sport first.
Schedule games in the season
When you create a game, the Counts toward choice on the + New Game form puts it in the season:
- Tap Games, then + New Game.
- Pick the sport, then under Counts toward choose the season (it shows as, for example, Fall 2026 season). With more than one open season, tap Season and pick it from the list.
- Pick the away and home teams. Only the season's teams are offered.
If you see a notice such as "Add at least 2 basketball teams to Fall 2026 before scheduling a season game.", the season has fewer than two teams. Tap Manage League in the notice and add them. See Schedule a game.
If something goes wrong
- Create season stays greyed out: the Name is empty.
- The season doesn't appear, or a team doesn't move into the list: check your connection and reload the page. Changes that didn't save don't show an error.
- Counts toward doesn't appear on the New game form: the sport you picked isn't your active league's sport, or the league has no Upcoming or Active season. See Run more than one league.
