A league is the home for one sport's seasons. It gives you standings and stat leaders, and it sets the ruleset (quarters, halves, sets or innings) that new games copy. You need a league before you can create a season, but not to score a one-off game.
Short version
Tap League, then + Create league. Enter a League name, choose the Sport and its ruleset, and tap Create league. Then add a season under All seasons.
Before you start
- One league per sport. You can have a basketball league and a volleyball league, but not two basketball leagues. See Run more than one league.
- The sport can't be changed later. Pick it carefully. Only teams of the league's sport can join its seasons.
- No league needed for a one-off game. Games without a season are scrimmages: they keep full stats but don't count in standings. See Scrimmages.
Create the league
- Tap League in the header (on a phone, it's in the three-line menu).
- You'll see No league yet. Tap + Create league.
- In League name, type a name, for example "Metro League".
- Choose the Sport. It starts on Football, so change it if you need to.
- If your sport has rulesets, a ruleset box appears under the sport (for example Basketball ruleset). Pick the one that matches how your games are played. It's copied to new games. See Rulesets for each sport.
- Tap Create league. The button reads Creating... while it saves.
The page changes to Manage season, with your league name at the top. Football and soccer have no ruleset box, since StatsCastr uses one standard format for each.
Add a logo and check the details
Your league's settings live in the League card on the League page:
- Logo: tap the Logo tile and choose an image from your phone or computer. If it doesn't work, you'll see Upload failed; try again, or try a different image.
- League name: tap Rename, type the new name, and tap Save (or press Enter). Cancel (or Esc) keeps the old name.
- Sport: shown for reference. It can't be changed.
- Ruleset for future games: tap Change, pick a ruleset, and tap Save. Games you've already created keep their saved ruleset.
Next: add a season
A league on its own doesn't hold games. Add a season so games can count:
- In the All seasons card, tap + New season.
- Give it a Name, a Status and dates, and tap Create season.
- Add teams to it in the Teams in season card.

If something goes wrong
- Create league stays greyed out: the League name is empty. Type a name.
- Nothing happens when you tap Create league: you most likely already have a league for that sport. Tap Cancel and look for it in the Active league list on the League page. If that isn't it, check your connection and try again.
- You picked the wrong sport: the sport can't be changed, and leagues can't be deleted on the website yet. Email info@eightyfivecreative.com and we'll help.
