Every game you score starts here. You can schedule games weeks ahead, or create one in the parking lot five minutes before tip-off. Either way it takes under a minute.
Short version
Tap Games, then + New Game. Choose the Sport, the Away team and the Home team, pick your season under Counts toward (or Scrimmage), set the Game date and Location, and tap Create game.
Before you start
You need at least two teams of the same sport: yours and the opponent. If you don't have them yet, see Add a team.
For the game to count in standings, you also need a league and a season with both teams in it. See Create a season and add teams. Without one, the game is a scrimmage: it keeps full stats but doesn't count in standings.
Create the game
- Tap Games in the header, then + New Game. (The dashboard has a + New Game button too.)
- Choose the Sport. It starts on your league's sport. Only teams registered for that sport appear in the team lists.
- If your sport has rulesets, check the ruleset field next to it (for example Basketball ruleset). Leave it on Use league default to use your league's rules, or pick another option for this game only. See Rulesets for each sport.
- Choose the Away team and the Home team. Picking a home team also switches the sport to that team's sport.
- Under Counts toward, tap your season (for example Spring 2027 season) or Scrimmage. If you have more than one open season, tap Season and pick it from the list.
- Set the Game date (date and time) and the Location, for example "Home Field". Both are optional.
- Tap Create game.
The game's page opens, with Start Game ready for game time.
Check Counts toward
A new game starts out as a Scrimmage. If it should count in your standings, tap the season before you tap Create game. You can't move a game into a season later.
On a laptop, a Preview panel on the right shows the matchup, when, where, the season and the rules as you fill in the form.
When Counts toward doesn't appear
Counts toward only shows when your active league is the same sport as the game and has an Active or Upcoming season. If it's missing:
- No league or season yet: the game will be a scrimmage. Create a season first if it should count.
- The season is Completed: completed seasons can't take new games. Change its status on the League page. See Manage a season.
- You run more than one league: the form uses your active league. On League, change Active league to the right one, then come back. See Run more than one league.
When you pick a season, the team lists only show teams in that season.
What you can't change later
Once the game is created, only the date, time and location can change, and only until the game starts. The sport, teams, ruleset and season are fixed. If one of those is wrong, delete the game and create it again before you log any stats. See Change a game's date, time or location and Delete a game.
Volleyball games always use rally scoring, and in tennis you pick singles or doubles while you score, not here.
