Delete a game

Remove a game for good, along with its stats, play-by-play and fan link.

Updated October 19, 2026 · 3 min read

Delete a game when it was created by mistake, set up with the wrong teams or season, or cancelled for good. Deleting is permanent, and it takes the game's stats with it, so check the alternatives below first.

Short version

Tap Games, find the game, tap Delete on its card and confirm Delete this game?. Its stats, play-by-play and fan link go with it, and it can't be restored.

Delete a game

  1. Tap Games in the header. Use Scheduled, Live or Final to narrow the list if you need to.
  2. On the game's card, tap Delete.
  3. Your browser asks Delete this game?. Tap OK.

The card disappears from the list. Delete is only on the Games list; there's no delete button on the game's own page or the Live page.

If the card is still there after you confirm, your connection probably dropped. Reload the page and try again.

What gets deleted

Everything that belongs to the game:

  • the score, team stats and player stats
  • the whole play-by-play
  • the public game page: anyone opening the fan link sees that the game can't be found

What stays:

  • both teams and their rosters
  • the league and season
  • any PDF or CSV box score you already downloaded

If the game was final and in a season, the standings and stat leaders update without it. The win-loss records on the Teams page change too.

There's no undo and no trash. If you might want the stats later, download the box score first with Export PDF or Export CSV on the game's page. See Download a PDF or CSV box score.

Games linked to ScoreCastr

Deleting a linked game also unlinks it from the ScoreCastr match. ScoreCastr stops getting new stats and keeps showing the last ones it received. You can link the match to another game with a new code. See Link a game to ScoreCastr.

Instead of deleting

You want toDo this
Move the game to another date, time or placeTap Edit on its card. See Change a game's date, time or location.
Fix a wrong play or scoreEdit or delete the play. The game and its other stats stay. See Edit or delete any play.
Change the teams, sport, ruleset or seasonThese can't be edited. Delete the game and create it again, ideally before any stats are logged. See Schedule a game.
Keep a game out of the standingsIt has to be a scrimmage from the start. See Scrimmages.

Deleting a team that has games

A team can't be removed while games still use it. If you try, Teams shows a red message such as "This team is in 3 games. Delete those games first, or keep the team." Delete those games first, then delete the team. See Edit or delete a team.
