Most link problems come down to the code: it's mistyped, more than 10 minutes old, or already used. A fresh code from ScoreCastr fixes those in seconds. This guide lists every message StatsCastr shows while linking and once a game is linked, with the fix for each.
Short version
When in doubt, make a new code in ScoreCastr (Link StatsCastr on the match), tap Use another code in StatsCastr if you're past step 1, and enter it within 10 minutes. Check the ScoreCastr match and the StatsCastr game are the same sport.
While entering the code
These appear in red at the top of the Link to ScoreCastr page, or under the box in the Link to ScoreCastr dialog.

"Waking up the server. This can take up to a minute." isn't an error. StatsCastr's server was asleep. Wait for it rather than tapping Continue again.
While choosing the game

My game isn't in the list
Which StatsCastr game? only lists games that:
- are the same sport as the ScoreCastr match, and
- aren't final.
Final games can't be linked. For a game that's missing because the sport is wrong, check the ScoreCastr match's sport, or Create a new game from this match. See Create a game from a ScoreCastr match.
The QR code didn't work
There's no scanner inside StatsCastr. Open your phone's camera app, point it at the QR code on the ScoreCastr screen, and tap the link it shows. It opens statscastr.co/link with the code filled in.
- If you see "Log in to continue", sign in; the code is kept and accepted after you sign in.
- If the code was already used or expired, make a new one.
- Or type the code instead: tap Link from ScoreCastr on Games.
Once the game is linked
Problems after linking show in the chip on the game. Tap it to read the message:
