Fix common problems

The most common problems across StatsCastr, what causes them, and the fix, with links to the detailed guides.

Updated October 19, 2026 · 5 min read

Most problems in StatsCastr come down to a handful of causes: a weak connection, a sign-in mix-up, or a change that didn't save. Find your problem below for the fix, and follow the link for the full guide.

Short version

Check your connection, then reload the page to see what actually saved. Most changes can be made again. If you're still stuck, email info@eightyfivecreative.com with the version number from the header and what you were doing.

Signing in

  • "Invalid email or password.": check the email for typos. If you signed up with Continue with Google, use that button: there's no StatsCastr password for that account. Otherwise tap Forgot password?.
  • "Get started free" opened a Log in form: that's expected for now. Tap Create an account under the form to sign up.
  • No reset email: check your spam folder and wait a few minutes. Reset links work for 60 minutes, once. If you ask for more than five links in an hour, the extra requests aren't sent; wait an hour and try again.
  • "This link has expired": tap Send a new link.
  • "Network error. Please check your connection and try again.": your connection dropped while signing in. Try again on a stronger signal.

See Sign in, reset your password and log out.

A page won't load

  • "Dashboard couldn't load", "Teams couldn't load", "Roster couldn't load": the connection dropped while loading. Your data is safe. Tap Try again.
  • "Team unavailable", "Roster unavailable" or "Game not found.": the team or game was deleted, or you're signed in to a different account than the one that created it.
  • The team page keeps spinning: reload the page. If it still spins, go back to Teams and open the team from its card. See Your team page.
  • "Out of bounds" (page not found): the link is old or mistyped. Tap Back to home.

Nothing happens when you tap

Some actions don't show an error yet when they fail, so it can look as if nothing happened. The fix is the same each time: check your connection, reload the page to see what saved, and do it again.

Logos and team pages

  • "This team is in ... games. Delete those games first, or keep the team.": a team can't be deleted while it has games. Delete its games first, or keep the team. See Edit or delete a team.
  • The fan page shows a team's initial instead of its logo: the logo image couldn't load. If you pasted an image URL, check the image is still online, or upload the logo instead. See Add a team.
  • "Logo upload failed": try again on a better connection, or paste an image URL.
  • The team page shows football stats for another sport: the Team stats tab currently shows football fields for every sport. Use the Players tab and the season page instead. See Your team page.
  • The team page shows the wrong seasons: it uses your active league. Tap League and choose the team's league under Active league.
  • The Games list shows "Q1" for a volleyball or baseball game: the list labels every live game's period that way for now. The game's own page and the Live page show the right label, such as Set 2 or 4th.

Scoring with a bad connection

  • Keep the Live page open. Plays you log offline are queued on your phone and sent when the connection comes back, but only while that game's Live page stays open.
  • Don't reload while offline. The page can't load again without a connection.
  • "Saving previous stat": wait a moment for the last play to save before logging the next one.
  • A play shows "Failed" in the play log: tap Retry once you're back online. If it keeps failing on a good connection, StatsCastr refused that play; the failed play isn't saved, so check the fan page or box score for the real score, and see Fix common live-scoring problems.
  • "Check the clock": the time you typed isn't a real time, or it's longer than the period. StatsCastr puts the clock back to its last saved time. Type the time left as minutes and seconds, like 5:42. See Change the period and set the clock.
  • Don't tap End Game while plays are queued. Once the game is final, queued plays can't be sent.

See Keep scoring when the internet drops and Fix common live-scoring problems.

Linking to ScoreCastr

  • "That code has expired.": codes last 10 minutes. Make a new one in ScoreCastr.
  • "This ScoreCastr match is ... but this game is ...": the sports don't match. Pick a game of the same sport, or create one from the match.
  • "Waking up the server. This can take up to a minute.": wait, it's starting up.
  • The chip says "ScoreCastr error": open its menu and tap Resync now. If the message says to unlink and link again, do that with a new code.
  • "Contact support" in a ScoreCastr message: email us with the game link.

See Fix ScoreCastr link errors and The ScoreCastr chip.
