Which stats show up in ScoreCastr's graphics

What a linked game sends to ScoreCastr, sport by sport, and what ScoreCastr keeps control of.

Updated October 18, 2026 · 4 min read

A linked game sends ScoreCastr the same box score you see on the game's page in StatsCastr. ScoreCastr uses it in its player stats and halftime stats graphics (game stats graphics for baseball and softball). This guide lists what's sent for each sport, so you know which stats to log for the graphics you plan to show.

Short version

StatsCastr sends the team stats, the score by period, both rosters, each player's stats and the last play, a moment after every change. ScoreCastr keeps control of the score, clock and period on the scoreboard.

What's sent with every update

Each time you log, edit or delete a play, or change a roster, StatsCastr sends ScoreCastr the full current picture:

  • Team stats: the same comparison rows as the Team stats card on the game's page
  • Score by period: each quarter, half, period, set or inning
  • Rosters: both teams' players, with numbers and positions
  • Player stats: the same tables as the Player stats section, for every player with at least one stat
  • The last play: what it was, which team, which player and when (for example a goal, the scorer and the period)
  • the game's status and the current period

Because each update carries everything, a missed update is fixed by the next one, or by Resync now on the chip. See The ScoreCastr chip.

What ScoreCastr controls

The score, game clock and period on the scoreboard always come from ScoreCastr. StatsCastr sends its own score for reference only, and nothing you do in StatsCastr changes ScoreCastr's scoreboard. If the two scores differ, the scoreboard shows ScoreCastr's.

Which graphics use which stats, and how they look, is set in ScoreCastr.

Getting the most into your graphics

  • Credit the player. Player graphics only show what's credited to a player. A stat logged for the team with no player shows in the team stats only. See Log stats live.
  • Fill in the rosters. Names and numbers come from your StatsCastr rosters, so add both teams' players before the game. See Add, edit and remove players.
  • Fix mistakes in StatsCastr. Editing or deleting a play updates the graphics too, even after the final. See Edit or delete any play.
  • Check the sides. If your home team's stats appear on the away graphics, the sides were swapped when linking. Unlink and link again, using ⇄ Swap.

Checklist

  • Both rosters filled in with names and numbers
  • Stats credited to players, not just teams
  • Score and clock run in ScoreCastr, not StatsCastr
  • Chip showing ScoreCastr · Live during the game
  • Mistakes fixed in StatsCastr so the graphics follow
